Crawford County Agricultural Society met for the purpose of electing a Secretary and Treasurer The officers of the association were all present and sixteen of the eighteen Directors Teel was re-elected Secretary and Frank Kaler Treasurer In place of George Gormly Mr Gormly has been Treasurer for the past six -or seven years but his business now is such that it was impossible for him to devote the attention to It he desired and he positively declined a re-election i 1 To the Editor of the Joukhuu Sulphur Springs The writer has frequently been asked how large is Annapolis and other questions in regard to the place so one day the thought occurred to my mind why not write a description of the Hamlet It is situated about 8 or perhaps 8 miles east of the center of the counly of Crawford State of Ohio its situation is flue elevated somewhat and is surrounded with rich fanning land and well to do-farmers though the village has not made the progress many western villages have yet it is not to be despised I presume there are but few if any of the buildings standing now that were erected during the first decade of its existence if so they are so remodeled as not to be recognizable there are several of the earlier settlers still living in the hamlet and a goodly number of their descendants the inhabitants are Germans Pennsylvania Dutch and a Sprinkling of Yankees there are 78 dwellings two churches Methodist Episcopal and Lutheran three parsonages two dry goods stores one hardware one novelty store oue printing one drug store one grist mill one sawmljl one undertaker one barber shop OBOi oooper shop one harness shop Several boot and shoe shops several carriage and wagon factories as well as several blacksmith shops one livery three physicians one hotel one or two saloons a brick school building containing 8 rooms all occupied during the winter the buildings generally are neat the citizens are favored with a supply of Sulphur water It is a railroad point but'instead there iaily track from the hamlet to Bums and dally mail At present there 1 2 or 8 vacant dwellings so those xious for 'a hamlet location can probably be suited here Ckua 1 Top Buggy
