By JOE MCDONALD Associated Press Writer CLEVELAND (AP) Ten veterans plan to return to Vietnam to participate in filming two documentaries and to look for Vietnamese friends they havent seen in 20 years. Bob Jablonski, a Cleveland film producer who served in the infantry in Vietnam in 1968, in February filmed Vietnamese celebrations on the 20th anniversary of the 1968 Tet Offensive. Jablonski said he is returning with the group to make a documentary about the trip for veterans who cant afford to travel to Vietnam. The documentary is designed and will be produced and edited for one audience: Vietnam veterans. Theres going to be things going on that will be emotional triggering things that only a veteran can relate to, he said.

The group will work with a crew from the British Broadcasting Corp. that is making a documentary about the delayed effects of combat stress on soldiers who served in Vietnam, the Falkland Islands and Northern Ireland. Vietnam was such an important part of our life. To see the people now without the war means a lot, said Don Mills president of the Akron branch of Vietnam Veterans of America and an organizer of the two-week trip. Mills, who spent 10 months in Vietnam as an infantryman in 1969, made his first return trip to that country in 1984.

Myers, who was a crewman on a Marine plane during the war, said he has returned to Vietnam four times with groups of veterans. The guys didnt actually know people by name, but when we start talking about where we were and comparing notes, people start saying they were in the same place and it turns out were meeting people who were there the same time we were, he said.
